The International Workshop on CORDEX-East Asia

22-23 September 2011, Seogwipo, Korea

Dear Colleagues,
You are invited to submit your research paper for the upcoming international workshop on
CORDEX for East Asia which will take place at Jeju Island, Republic of Korea on 22-23 September
2011. The workshop place will be at Seogwipo KAL Hotel in southern coast of Jeju Island.
The domain for CORDEX-East Asia is the biggest among eleven CORDEX domains in the
world. Furthermore, East Asia region has complex and unique geographical characteristics so that
its associated regional and/or local atmospheric phenomena are highly complicated due to nonlinear
interactions among climate systems as well as multi-scale interactions from mesoscale to
planetary motions. The major themes of this workshop include progresses of CORDEX activities
focusing on East Asia; however, regional climate downscaling issues for other regions are also very
welcomed.

Your participation is strongly encouraged to provide valuable opportunity for sharing research
progresses and discussing major issues for regional climate downscaling research communities.
